Loretta Tillery currently works in the Office of the County Executive of Prince George’s County, MD where she serves as a Special Assistant to the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Health, Human Services and Education. In this capacity she manages several programmatic initiatives, team activities and constituent interactions to ensure the mission and vision of County Executive and Deputy Chief Administrative Officer are achieved. In addition, Loretta oversees the development, implementation and execution of several key programs and policy initiatives of the administration in the areas of social services, health and education. Loretta helps develop and implement a government relations strategy to help constituents realize their goals in dealing with the Office of the County Executive. She is a talented project manager coordinating multiple vendors and projects simultaneously with a focus on process improvement, efficiency, cost control, profitability, and client satisfaction. Prior to her detail in the Office of the County Executive, Loretta was Assistant Director for Constituent Services, Office of Information and Technology, Risk Management and Central Services for the Department of Social Services. She began her service in the Department of Social Services as a Special Assistant to the Director and Assistant Director where she developed, analyzed and advised on policy matters in areas of human services, administration, policy, strategic planning, continuous quality improvement and client engagement.
Loretta is a goal-oriented leader with extensive experience in transitional leadership, partnership collaboration and employee engagement. Additionally, she possesses solid communication and problem-solving skills particularly as it relates to leading change. She has strong skills in cultural integration, human resource development, customer service and strategic development.
A highly effective and visionary leader, Loretta thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments providing professionalism at all times. She is a frequent conference speaker and is very active in the community. She serves on several boards of directors including, the American Society of Certified Public Managers, and the Certified Public Manger Education Foundation and is a Board Member/ Commissioner with the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NCC AP). She is also very proud of her work as a site visitor with the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA). In this capacity she visits Schools of Public Policy and Administration to ensure that college students are receiving a quality education that meets the NASPAA standards and prepares them for their post graduate lives.
Loretta Tillery received her Master’s in Public Administration from Bowie State University in 2010. She also is a Certified Public Manger through the George Washington University Regional Executive Development Program (REDP). In her spare time she enjoys spending quality time with her family and fishing.
